Amanda Gargac

Amanda Gargac

Amanda Gargac is an artist born in Toledo, Ohio currently living in Detroit, Michigan. She holds an MFA in Two Dimensional Studies at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH and a BA in 2D Studio Art from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, IN. Amanda is an advocate for invisible illnesses and was awarded a 2023 Rising Phoenix Award from the Intentional Living Collective. She is involved in Community Arts and was a 2021 & 2022 Instructor with the Young Artists at Work Program leading the largest mural in the program’s history. She has continued with the program as their Alumni Exhibition Curator in 2023 and 2024, bringing 30 years of alumni together. Amanda is a 2018 National YoungArts Winner exhibiting at MoMA PS1 in New York, a South Bend Museum of Art resident artist exhibiting at the museum in 2020, and a 2017 Congressional Award winner exhibiting in the US Capitol in Washington D.C.
